Delhi-based renewable energy EPC company Neelkantha Group has announced its debut solar power project as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) — a 22 MWp solar project being developed at Shikarpur in Uttar Pradesh under the Group Captive Open Access (GCOA) framework.

“This project marks an important step forward in our commitment to support commercial and industrial (C&I) customers as they accelerate their energy transition toward cleaner, more sustainable power solutions. Through this initiative, we aim to deliver reliable renewable energy while helping businesses reduce their carbon footprint and enhance long-term energy security,” stated Pankaj Verma, CEO  and Co-Founder, Neelkantha Infrapower Ltd., in a social media post.

He further mentioned that the project has already achieved key development milestones, including allocation of grid connectivity, 100 percent land acquisition, completion of land development, and boundary wall construction. These advancements, he said, underscore the Group’s execution capabilities and emphasis on timely and responsible project delivery.

“As a company, this achievement fills us with immense pride, but it also comes with a deep sense of responsibility. Every megawatt we add is a step toward contributing meaningfully to India’s sustainability journey, strengthening energy independence, and building a greener future for generations to come,” asserted Verma.

Neelkantha Group has been engaged in renewable energy projects for the last 15 years, with activities ranging from EPC to land aggregation to the erection of transmission lines. “We have also developed about 150 MW of rooftop projects during this tenure. We have now diversified and become an Independent Power Producer (IPP) focused on developing renewable energy projects across multiple states in India, with a strong focus on delivering sustainable and cost-effective energy solutions to C&I consumers,” the company stated.

The company further added that it is currently developing a 70 MWp DC plant in Uttar Pradesh and has already signed with some of the leading manufacturing and commercial industries in Uttar Pradesh. “The land acquisition and connectivity are already in place, and the COD of the project shall be achieved by May 2026,” the company stated.
