Fuel-tech solutions provider Nawgati, which operates across India and the UAE, has announced its entry into Sri Lanka. The company will set up its headquarters at the World Trade Centre, Colombo, with phase one of its deployment beginning in Colombo before scaling into high-density urban regions.
According to the company, Sri Lanka is a strategic fit for Nawgati due to its strong operational and regulatory resemblance to India. The market features major Indian fuel retailers, similar compliance frameworks, and a demographic profile aligned with Nawgati’s existing user base, factors that allow the company to scale with minimal friction.
As part of the rollout, Nawgati will introduce its flagship platforms: Aaveg, a congestion-management and compliance-intelligence system designed for fuel station operators and oil marketing companies, and the Nawgati Fueling App, a consumer-facing solution that provides real-time fuel availability, accurate wait-time insights, and a more predictable, seamless fueling experience.
Importantly, Nawgati’s platform is fully fuel-agnostic, supporting green and alternative fuels, including CNG, EV charging, and other cleaner fuel formats already deployed in India and the UAE. The same capability will extend to Sri Lanka, covering all compatible stations based on operator infrastructure.
Commenting on the expansion, Vaibhav Kaushik, CEO and Co-founder of Nawgati, said, “Sri Lanka fits seamlessly into our growth strategy, not just geographically but operationally. The market readiness, regulatory alignment, and presence of established Indian operators create a strong foundation for scale. Our goal is to reduce uncertainty, improve efficiency, and enable smarter, connected fueling ecosystems for both operators and consumers. This is a long-term investment and a milestone in our global roadmap.”
Nawgati is already in discussions with private-sector fuel operators in Sri Lanka and is exploring potential collaborations with government stakeholders to enable nationwide adoption of its monitoring and compliance solutions.
