Mubadala Investment Company, Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund, announced a EUR 300 million investment in Rezolv Energy, a renewable-power platform developed by UK-based Actis, aiming to accelerate clean-energy deployment across Central and Eastern Europe.

Rezolv Energy, currently has around 750 MW of renewable projects under construction in Romania and Bulgaria, with an additional 1.5 GW of solar and wind capacity in advanced development. Its Romanian Dama project is poised to become Europe’s largest solar power facility.

Built on over 15 years of clean-energy experience in the region, Rezolv’s leadership previously developed major wind projects in Croatia, the Czech Republic, and Romania. Mubadala’s funding, alongside Actis’ support, is expected to accelerate Rezolv’s expansion and bolster its position as a leading regional renewable producer.

Saed Arar, Head of Infrastructure at Mubadala Real Assets, said the investment aligns with the fund’s strategy to scale real assets that enable the transition to a low-carbon economy. Rezolv CEO Alastair Hammond highlighted that Mubadala’s involvement will allow the platform to pursue more ambitious clean-energy projects, following recent successes in Romania’s contract-for-difference auctions.

Mubadala’s investment complements its global renewable portfolio, which includes stakes in Tata Power’s renewables platform in India and Skyborn Renewables, the world’s largest private offshore wind developer. The fund, managing over $300 billion in assets, has also received EU approval to jointly control Rezolv alongside Actis.

Rezolv is further developing major assets, including the 225 MWp St. George solar park in Bulgaria. Mubadala’s backing strengthens the UAE’s global climate leadership by supporting sustainable infrastructure and energy-security solutions in emerging markets.

The partnership positions Rezolv Energy to become a regional clean-energy champion while reinforcing Mubadala’s role in the UAE’s green-economy strategy.
