MP of Nagaur Urges Rajasthan Govt to Revoke Electricity Charges

Hanuman Beniwal, MP of Nagaur in Rajasthan has requested the state government to cancel fuel surcharge and other charges in power bills for providing relief to the people in the state.

In order to find out the reason behind increasing losses of power distribution companies (Discoms) despite unprecedented increase in power tariffs every year, Beniwal asked Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, to set up a commission for conduction audit of Discoms, said the PTI report. The MP claimed towards of a scam in the power distribution companies.

He said that farmers and consumers in urban and rural areas are agitated due to fuel surcharge and other charges levied on electricity bills, which should be revoked.
