MNRE to review implementation of outcome of RE-INVEST at 7th Zonal Review Meeting

It will review implementation of outcome covering States of Tamil Nadu & Pudducherry

MNRE has announced that it will conduct 7th Regional Interactive Meeting at Hotel Le Royal Meridian, Madras-II Hall, No.1, GST Road, St. Thomas Mount, Chennai (Near Kathipara Junctiion) to review the implementation of outcome of RE-INVEST 2015.

During RE-INVEST 2015, it attracted 458 Commitments by global and domestic Investors/ Project Developers/ Public Sector Enterprises to develop and set up Renewable Energy Projects aggregating to more than 283.30 GW in the next 5 years. Similarly, 37 major Banks and Financial Institutions submitted commitments to finance bankable projects in Renewable Energy Sector aggregating to 75.852 MW. In addition 17 companies also submitted Commitments for setting up manufacturing facilities aggregating to more than 62 GW.

The objective of these meetings o translate these commitments into the implementation MNRE is organizing interactive Meetings with Project developers/ Investors, Financial Institutions and officials of various State Governments. The objective of these meetings is to draw future course of action and interact with prospective investors to understand their requirements, allay their concerns and to provide necessary policy support.

During this meeting, representatives of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Governments will make presentations covering the potential available in various streams of renewable energy sector, policy in place, incentives offered, compliance norms, timelines and other practical requirements to set up RE projects in the States. In order to answer the questions/ clarifications of the potential project developers interested to set up projects in these States, the representatives from the Departments of Revenue (Land), Power, Forest, Excise & Taxation; Pollution Control Boards, Transmission & Distribution Companies, State Nodal Agencies and SERCs of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry would also be present in the said meeting.

Project Developers, Investors, Banks/ Financial Institutions interested to set up or Finance projects in all Renewable Energy sectors in these two States are welcome to attend the above interactive meeting.
