MNRE Extends Rooftop Solar CFA Claim Submission Deadline to Dec 31, 2025 Under PM Surya Ghar
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has revised the operational guidelines for the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, setting December 31, 2025, as the final deadline for claiming CFA on eligible rooftop solar applications under Phase II, while applications not installed by April 1, 2025, will be deemed ineligible and removed from the system.

“Considering the feedback from the implementing agencies on the operational issues being faced during the implementation of the said scheme across the states/UTs, amendments in the guidelines is issued,” stated MNRE in a notification.
Under the amended guidelines, all applications at redeemed/inspected/installed stage under the Phase II of rooftop solar programme will be admissible for CFA, if claim is received till December 31, 2025. “However, all such applications will be admissible for CFA as per the respective RTS phase II programme guidelines,” it clarified.
It further added applications submitted but not installed as on April 1, 2025 shall be ineligible for CFA, and shall be deleted from the database. “Such consumers, whose applications are so deleted are at liberty to re-apply under the PMSG: MBY in the future,” it said.
The Ministry shall identify the minimum technical specifications to be adhered to by all vendors for RTS systems installed under the scheme. “The Ministry may amend the technical specifications as required prospectively, with the approval of the Secretary, MNRE. It will be the responsibility of the vendors to ensure that the system meets the minimum technical specifications. This will also be checked by the DISCOMS at the time of inspection,” it said.
