The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has extended the deadline for receiving Central Financial Assistance (CFA) claims for eligible rooftop solar applications under the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG: MBY) to November 30, 2026.

In an office memorandum (OM) dated August 31, 2026, the Ministry amended the implementation guidelines for the scheme’s “CFA to residential consumers” component.

Under the amended guidelines, applications at the redeemed, inspected or installed stage under Phase II of the Rooftop Solar Programme will remain eligible for CFA, provided the claim is received by November 30, 2026. Such applications will continue to be governed by the respective Phase II Rooftop Solar Programme guidelines.

The amendment supersedes the clause mentioned in the OM dated July 7, 2025, which required CFA claims to be received by December 31, 2025. It also mentioned that applications submitted but not installed as of April 1, 2025, will remain ineligible for CFA and will be deleted from the database. Consumers whose applications are deleted will be allowed to re-apply under the PM-Surya Ghar scheme in the future.

The latest amendment follows the Ministry’s earlier office memorandum dated June 7, 2024, which notified the operational guidelines for the CFA component, and the subsequent amendment issued on July 7, 2025.
