MNRE Empanels RECPDCL, REIL as SIPs for Government Rooftop Solar Under PM Surya Ghar
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has designated REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd. and Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Ltd. as additional Scheme Implementation Partners for rooftop solar installations on government buildings under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.

Under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, one of the key components is the installation of rooftop solar systems across government buildings on a priority basis. To facilitate implementation, the ministry allocates Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) with expertise in renewable energy technologies to assist Central Ministries, Departments and States/UTs in deploying rooftop solar projects on their assets.
However, no Central Financial Assistance (CFA) will be provided for rooftop solar installations on government buildings.
The ministry stated that, as per the operational guidelines, MNRE is authorised to identify CPSEs with experience in the renewable energy sector as Scheme Implementation Partners for Government Rooftop Solar under PMSG: MBY. While several CPSEs had already been designated as SIPs, the guidelines also provide for the inclusion of additional partners from time to time.
In line with these provisions, MNRE has now identified REIL and RECPDCL as additional SIPs. The two entities will assist both Central Ministries and Departments, as well as States and Union Territories, in accelerating rooftop solar deployment across government buildings under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
