MNRE approves Rs. 108.00 crores for Installation of Solar Water Heating Systems
Solar Water Heating Systems for institutional and industrial sector in different states of the country.

MNRE approves funding for Installation of Solar Water Heating Systems through National Clean Energy Fund (NCEF) for Installation of Solar Water Heating Systems with cumulative collector area of 4,00,000 sqm for * institutional and industrial sector in different states of the country at a total cost of Rs. 108.00 crores (30% of estimated project cost of Rs. 360.00 crores) towards reimbursement of capital subsidy as per terms and condition approved by the IMG.
The project will be implemented by SNAs and Channel Partners accredited by the MNRE. Total timeline of the project is 24 months. The NCEF grant will be released subject to introduction of innovation as under:
- Water temperature control should be made possible as otherwise water becomes overheated sometimes.
- Availability in uncovered area should be improved.
To monitor the performance and functioning of solar water heating systems, a monitoring mechanism will be developed by the MNRE. Financial sanction including terms and condition for release of fund will be issued after fund availability.
