Middle East Energy Event Kicks Off in Dubai

Celebrating its 49th edition, the event has convened under the patronage of the UAE’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, occupying a vast expanse of 14 halls at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The Middle East Energy event, the region's largest and most comprehensive energy gathering has commenced, boasting its most extensive knowledge-sharing program to date.

Celebrating its 49th edition, the event has convened under the patronage of the UAE’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, occupying a vast expanse of 14 halls at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) until April 18, covering an area of 28,500 square meters. This year's event sees a notable expansion, with an increase of four halls and a 35 percent growth in show-floor space compared to the previous year.

More than 1,500 local and regional exhibitors, alongside 14 national pavilions from prominent countries such as China, Germany, India, Italy, and the United Kingdom, are showcasing cutting-edge solutions and technologies aimed at addressing the industry's evolving needs.

Azzan Mohamed, Group Exhibition Director, Energy Portfolio at Informa Markets, the organizer of the event, emphasized its significance, stating, "On show will be the very future of an industry beset by rising demands, the need to transform to sustainable solutions, and to address pressing needs for energy security."

The event highlights a comprehensive knowledge program featuring over 250 speakers across three high-level strategic conferences: the Leadership Summit, Technical Seminars, and the Intersolar & ees Middle East Conference. These sessions will delve into crucial topics such as energy transition, real-world energy solutions, sustainability, and cyber-security challenges.

The Leadership Summit, a key component of the program, brings together senior decision-makers from across the MENA region to discuss the future of the energy and utilities sector under the theme of 'driving the power sector transformation forward.' Distinguished industry experts, including Dr. Eng Sinjar Tomeh, Abderrahim El Haffidi, and Eng Mohammed Al Ta’ani, will lead discussions on various pertinent topics.

Dr. Feras Alasali, Director of the Renewable Energy Centre at Jordan’s Hashemite University, emphasized the importance of collaboration in enhancing smart grid resilience and cybersecurity in the Middle East. He highlighted the university's aim to forge partnerships with industry leaders and technology providers to address regional energy challenges effectively.

In addition to the knowledge-sharing sessions, Middle East Energy is hosting Boardroom Briefings as part of its VIP Hosted Buyer Programme. These briefings aim to gather global stakeholders, investors, and suppliers to explore critical topics such as the impact of the EV market, decarbonization, energy security, and entrepreneurship development in the GCC’s utilities sector.

The event has garnered strong early registration numbers, indicating a potential surpassing of last year's record-breaking onsite order book valued at over USD 1.86 billion.
