Mehru Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Pvt.Ltd., a material subsidiary of Quality Power Electrical Equipments Ltd. (QPEEL), has secured a INR 26-crore order from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd for the supply of 400 kV and 220 kV oil-cooled current transformers, the largest single order in this product line.
The order further consolidates Mehru’s leadership in the 132 kV–500 kV high-voltage instrument transformer segment. The scope covers manufacturing and delivery of oil-cooled CTs critical for high-voltage substation operations, strengthening the company’s footprint in India’s transmission infrastructure market.
Sanjog Mhatre, Chief Business Officer, QPEEL, said that the win marks the single largest order for the instrument transformer product line, highlighting the growing strength of the group across the power transmission value chain. He added that rising investments in transmission networks and renewable integration will continue to create opportunities across high-voltage components, including transformers, reactors, and power quality systems.
The 12-month execution timeline will see revenue recognition begin in Q4 FY2025–26. Mehru will fulfil the order through its existing Bhiwadi manufacturing facility, underscoring operational scalability and QPEEL’s improved financial visibility for the coming fiscal.
The order aligns with Quality Power’s strategy to deepen its domestic market presence while leveraging synergies across subsidiaries, reinforcing the group’s position amid India’s accelerating grid expansion and renewable energy push.
