Major Firms Secure Contracts in NTPC's Auction for 3 GW Firm and Dispatchable RE

Several leading firms have as emerged winners in NTPC's recent auction to supply 3 GW of firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) from inter-state transmission (ISTS)-connected projects.
The notable winners are ABC Cleantech (Axis Energy), Juniper Green Energy, Serentica Renewables, Tata Power Renewable Energy, ReNew Solar Power, Hero Energy, Acme Cleantech Solutions, and BrightNight Power.
The auction, known as FDRE Tranche II, saw competition among industry giants. ABC Cleantech clinched victory by quoting the lowest tariff of INR 4.64/kWh, securing a contract for 300 MW.
Juniper and Hero Solar Energy followed closely, each winning 200 MW and 120 MW respectively by quoting tariffs of INR 4.69/kWh.
Meanwhile, Serentica and Tata Power secured contracts for 200 MW each by quoting tariffs of INR 4.71/kWh. ReNew Solar Power (ReNew) emerged triumphant with a bid of INR 4.72/kWh, winning a contract for 400 MW. Other winners include BrightNight Power and ACME Cleantech Solutions, who secured contracts for 110 MW and 54 MW respectively.
The tender for these projects was floated by NTPC in October 2023. The projects will be developed on a build-own-operate basis, further contributing to the nation's clean energy transition.
