Maharashtra Signs INR 1.03 Lakh Crore Clean Energy MoUs
Maharashtra’s clean energy sector has attracted INR 1.03 lakh crore in proposed investments, led by Vikram Solar (INR 27,941 crore), Hygenco (INR 25,000 crore), Ocior Energy-Jakson Green (INR 22,000 crore), Vedika Renewables (INR 8,571 crore), Oriana Power (INR 8,000 crore) and Rayzon Solar (INR 6,000 crore), during the launch of Invest Maharashtra.

The Maharashtra government has signed 67 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with 65 companies, involving proposed investments of INR 8.57 lakh crore and potential employment for 2.91 lakh people across sectors including semiconductors, data centres, renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, aerospace and defence, healthcare and agro-processing.
The agreements were signed in Mumbai in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during the launch of the ‘Invest Maharashtra’ initiative.
These proposed investments reflect the growing confidence in Maharashtra as a destination for investment, innovation and industry, asserted Fadnavis. “From semiconductors and data centres to energy, aerospace, defence, metals and mining, these investments will strengthen Maharashtra’s industrial ecosystem and create new opportunities for our youth,” he said.
The energy, cleantech, renewable energy, battery energy storage and compressed biogas (CBG) sectors account for proposed investments of INR 1.03 lakh crore. Other major sectors include data centres, IT and semiconductors with INR 4.15 lakh crore, metals and mining with INR 75,000 crore, aerospace and defence with INR 27,930 crore, electronics with INR 12,651 crore, healthcare with INR 6,500 crore and steel production with INR 7,000 crore.
Within the energy and cleantech segment, the MoUs include proposals from Hygenco, Vedika Renewables, Oriana Power, Amatha Green Energy, Solace Cogen, Bondada Engineering, Vikram Solar, Ocior Energy and Jakson Green, Rayzon Solar, Nibe CNG and Ratnagiri CBG. The proposals cover renewable energy, cleantech, BESS, CBG and solar energy projects across Maharashtra.
Among these, Hygenco has proposed an investment of INR 25,000 crore, while Vedika Renewables and Oriana Power have proposed investments of INR 8,571 crore and INR 8,000 crore, respectively. Amatha Green Energy has proposed INR 3,000 crore, Solace Cogen INR 1,080 crore, Bondada Engineering INR 1,007 crore, Vikram Solar INR 27,941 crore, Ocior Energy and Jakson Green jointly INR 22,000 crore, Rayzon Solar INR 6,000 crore, and Nibe CNG and Ratnagiri CBG INR 500 crore each.
In the Data Centre, IT/ITeS, and Semiconductor segment, major investment commitments include Akshat Greentech (INR 1 lakh crore), Sterlite Group (INR 84,500 crore), ReNew (INR 70,000 crore), Cortex Data Centres (INR 60,990 crore), Pi-Semicon (INR 40,000 crore) and Trentar Data Centres (INR 30,000 crore).
The ‘Invest Maharashtra’ initiative has been launched as a single platform for investment promotion and facilitation, with the state government seeking to coordinate requirements related to land, power, infrastructure, approvals and skilled manpower for proposed projects.
