Maharashtra Attracts Investments Worth INR 15,600 Crore in Solar Manufacturing

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis oversaw the signing of two MoUs worth INR 15,600 crore. While Jupiter International intends to invest INR 10,900 crore for setting up a solar wafer, cell and module manufacturing unit in Nagpur, LNK Green Energy will invest INR 4,700 crore to establish a 6 GW solar cell and module manufacturing unit.

Maharastra CM Devendra Fadnavis recently presided over the signing and exchange of two major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth INR 15,600 crore for solar manufacturing in Maharashtra.

The first MoU was signed between the Government of Maharashtra and Jupiter International. The company intends to invest INR 10,900 crore for establishing solar wafer, cell and module manufacturing unit at Butibori, Nagpur district of Maharashtra. “It will generate 8308 employment opportunities and propelling Maharashtra towards leadership in renewable and sustainable energy,” CMO Maharashtra said in a post on X.

The other MoU was signed Government of Maharashtra and LNK Green Energy to establish a 6 GW solar cell and module manufacturing plant at Auric, MITL with an investment of INR 4,700 crore, aimed at enabling clean energy production and creating 2500 direct employment opportunities.

Overall, the Maharashtra signed 10 MoUs bringing investments worth over INR 42,000 crore and creating over 2,6000 employment opportunities.

These partnerships strengthen sectors like data centres, solar energy, manufacturing and infrastructure, positioning Maharashtra as the 'Data Centre Capital' and 'Solar Energy Integration Capital' of India,” stated CM Fadnavis.

He further added, “This progress reflects the strong vision and leadership of PM Narendra Modi, whose unwavering dedication to India’s development inspires confidence among investors and citizens alike. The State Government remains fully committed to supporting these initiatives by ensuring smooth project execution and fostering an environment that encourages innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth.”

Together, through the combined efforts of the Government, industry and the people of Maharashtra, the State is on a clear path to becoming a leading example of progress and resilience, he said.
