Magenta Installs First-of-its-Kind EV Charger at HPCL Outlet in Mumbai, Delhi

With an aim to encourage electric vehicle (EV) adoption with flexible and low-cost charging solutions, Magenta in collaboration with HPCL under a unique initiative installed street lamp integrated EV charger - ChargeGrid Flare.

With an aim to encourage electric vehicle (EV) adoption with flexible and low-cost charging solutions, Magenta in collaboration with HPCL under a unique initiative installed street lamp integrated EV charger - ChargeGrid Flare.

The street lamp integrated chargers have been installed at HPCL Bandra Kurla Complex outlet in Mumbai and Nitimarg T&E outlet in Delhi.

The company claimed that this class of EV charging points are first in India, to incorporate within energy-efficient street lamp columns.

Further, the company is also planning to install additional 1,000 ChargeGrid Flare chargers pan India by the end of this year.

The some of the features of ChargeGrid Flare includes - smart design, power saving efficient LED lamp, robust street light pole & EV Supply Equipment made for Indian climatic conditions, online and remote monitoring of chargers can be possible through automated payment gateway through ChargeGrid App.

Commenting on the installation of EV charger, Maxson Lewis, MD of Magenta said, “we are happy to announce the installation of our first ChargeGrid Flare product at HPCL fuel stations at Mumbai and Delhi. The product was supposed to roll out in April 2020, along with multiple pilot projects to be commencing immediately post the launch. However, due to the Covid-19 impact we decided to delay the installations and now we are happy that 2021 starts off on a high note with this first installation now at the HPCL centers.”

He further said, “we aim at deploying 1,000 ChargeGrid Flare across pan India in this year and are in touch with OEM’s and Fuel Stations for the same. We look forward to work rigorously in 2021 and make up for the year gone by.”
