Madhya Pradesh Inaugurates 950 MW of Solar Capacity, Signs State’s First Solar-Plus-Storage Power Pact
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav launches Neemuch and Shajapur Solar Parks, witnesses PPA signing for the 440 MW Morena Solar Plus Storage Project and unveils development projects worth INR 1,593.98 crore.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the 500 MW Neemuch Solar Park and the 450 MW Shajapur Solar Park. The inauguration took place on June 29 and he witnessed the signing of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the 440 MV Morena Solar Plus Storage Project and laid the foundation stone for and dedicated to the public, industrial units and development projects worth INR 1,593.98 crore. Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Prahlad Joshi and Madhya Pradesh's Minister for New and Renewable Energy Rakesh Shukla will also be present on the occasion.
Additional Chief Secretary, New and Renewable Energy, Manu Srivastava, said that in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Union Minister Joshi and State Minister Shukla, the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the 440 MW Morena Solar Plus Storage Project was signed in Bhopal. The Morena Solar Plus Storage Project is the State's first solar energy storage project. The project has achieved a tariff of INR 2.70 per unit through the bidding process, the lowest in the country.
Later in the day, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and Union Minister Joshi inaugurated the 500 MW Neemuch Solar Park and the 450 MW Shajapur Solar Park at Neemuch. The projects have achieved highly competitive tariffs, with the lowest bid for the Neemuch Solar Park at INR 2.14 per unit, placing it among the lowest solar power tariffs in the country.
Amit Tomar, Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam, said that during the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and Union Minister Joshi also laid the foundation stone for and dedicated to the public various industrial units and development projects worth INR 1,593.98 crore.
The 500 MW Neemuch Solar Park comprises three units, with tariffs of INR 2.15 per unit for Unit-1, INR 2.14 per unit for Unit-2, and INR 2.15 per unit for Unit-3. Similarly, the 450 MW Shajapur Solar Park consists of three units, with tariffs of INR 2.35 per unit, INR 2.33 per unit, and INR 2.339 per unit for Units 1, 2 and 3, respectively. Meanwhile, the 550 MW Agar Solar Park, which is currently under construction, comprises two units with tariffs of INR 2.45 per unit for Unit-1 and INR 2.44 per unit for Unit-2.
