L&T’s Nabha Power Wins Global Recognition for Leadership in Clean Coal Technologies

Nabha Power Limited (NPL) has announced that it has received global recognition for High-Efficiency, Sustainability, Leadership and Innovation during the fifth Annual Peabody Global Clean Coal Leadership Awards. The awards were recently presented at POWER-GEN International in Orlando, Florida, USA.a

The award was in recognition of NPL’s1,400 MWcoal-based supercritical thermal power plant at Rajpura, Punjab achieving the best Heat Rate and Auxiliary Power consumption amongst India's 660-megawatt class for FY 2017–2018, along with 100 per cent dry fly ash utilization and zero liquid discharge.

Commenting on this recognition, Shailendra Roy, Whole-Time Director, Larsen & Toubro said, “We are delighted to have received this global recognition highlighting our unwavering commitment towards environment, innovation and clean fuel technologies.”

Mr. Roy further added, “Nabha Power has demonstrated exemplary leadership in innovating and benchmarking best O&M practices in the power sector to achieve high availability, PLF and efficiency during the year 2018.  The award also validates L&T’s capability to deliver large size supercritical power plants on complete EPC basis that are technologically proven and are best in class performers on a sustained basis.”

The three winners - one each from India, China and the United States - were selected for being outstanding global examples of leadership and innovation among the coal-fired generation plants and projects.
