The construction arm of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), L&T Construction, has secured orders in the range between Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore of worth from prestigious clients for its Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) business and water & treatment business.

The company’s Power Transmission & Distribution business has won two transmission line packages in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia involving design, procurement and construction of 380kV double circuit overhead transmission line corridors for a length of over 650KM.

Further, these lines are expected to strengthen the grid in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia and facilitate power evacuation.

Additionally, the company’s Water & Effluent Treatment business has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract in Gujarat to execute a package in the SAUNI Yojna Link 3.

Saurashtra Narmada Avtaran Irrigation (SAUNI) is a project launched by the Government to fill various reservoirs by diverting floodwaters overflowing from the Sardar Sarovar Dam across the Narmada river to drought areas in Gujarat.

The project involves survey, design, procurement, laying and jointing of 2500 mm diameter MS pipeline. L&T has already completed 4 packages in the Sauni Yojana for the same client.

L&T is an Indian multinational engaged in EPC projects, manufacturing, defence and services with more than USD 21 billion in revenue. Currently, it’s operations spread across more than 30 countries globally. A strong, customer–focused approach and the constant quest for top-class quality have enabled the company to attain and sustain leadership in its major lines of business for eight decades.

Buoyed by the order win, scrips of L&T were trading at Rs 1,295.65 apiece, up 0.31 per cent, from the previous close on the exchange at 12:53 hours.
