Indian multinational conglomerate Larsen & Toubro’s arm L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE) has won a significant order worth between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore from state-owned Petronet LNG (PLL).
Petronet LNG is a joint venture (JV) company promoted by 4 leading public sector undertakings (PSUs) viz., Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), GAIL (India) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL).
Mumbai-headquartered L&T has won the contract for engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and commissioning of 2 LNG storage tanks with a capacity of 1,70,000 m3 each for phase IIIB of the Dahej Expansion Project at Dahej in Gujarat.
Moreover, the company had won the project in an international competitive bidding on Lumpsum Turnkey (LSTK) basis.
On winning the order, L&T said that “the award demonstrates Petronet LNG’s trust on L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering’s capability to deliver the project within a challenging schedule while ensuring excellent safety and quality performance.”
Besides, L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering has also been executing LNG tanks for Dhamra LNG Terminal in Orissa.
Organized under Offshore, Onshore, Construction Services, Modular Fabrication and AdVENT verticals, the company delivers 'design to build' engineering and construction solutions across the hydrocarbon spectrum.
Meanwhile, Government has set a target of increasing the share of natural gas in the primary energy mix from the current 6 per cent to 15 per cent by 2030.
