Mining and metals manufacturer Lloyds Metals and Energy has announced that the company will procure 65.59 MW of renewable energy, comprising 48 MW of wind and 17.59 MW of solar capacity from Gentari India under the group captive mode.

The company’s Board has approved plans to acquire a minimum 26 percent equity stake in three renewable energy special purpose vehicles (SPVs) to secure wind and solar power for captive consumption. The move is aimed at supporting the company’s long-term energy requirements and increasing its use of renewable power, the company stated in a regulatory filing.

For wind power, Lloyds Metals will acquire a minimum 26 percent stake in Amplus Green One Power for an investment of up to INR 29.66 crore. The arrangement will enable the company to procure power from a 36 MW wind power project under a Wind Power Purchase Agreement.

The company will also acquire a minimum 26 percent stake in Amplus Energy One for up to INR 9.89 crore, linked to a 12 MW wind power project. A separate Wind PPA will be executed between Lloyds Metals and the project company.

For solar power, Lloyds Metals will acquire a minimum 26 percent stake in Amplus Ceres Solar for up to INR 8.47 crore. The investment is linked to a solar power project with a capacity of 17.59 MW (26.47 MWp), with the power to be procured under a Solar PPA.

The total proposed investment across the three renewable energy companies is up to INR 48.02 crore. The proposed acquisitions and associated PPAs will remain subject to applicable regulatory requirements and approvals from electricity authorities, including open-access requirements in Maharashtra, the company stated. It expects to complete the transactions by the end of FY27.
