Kolkata-based Laser Power & Infra Ltd. has announced that it has secured utility projects worth INR 836 crore from NTPC, Kanpur Electric Supply Company Ltd. (KESCo) and Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. (JDVVNL).

The orders, awarded under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), cover the supply of the company’s in-house manufactured power cables, conductors and system-strengthening materials, supported by turnkey engineering, procurement and construction execution.

The KESCo contract in Uttar Pradesh, valued at INR 422.11 crore, focuses on system-strengthening work with extensive deployment of distribution cables and conductors, followed by erection and commissioning. NTPC’s order in Jammu & Kashmir, worth INR 212.06 crore across Udhampur and Reasi, targets loss-reduction initiatives anchored by HT/LT cables, Aerial Bunched cables and overhead conductors. JDVVNL’s INR 202.13 crore project in Rajasthan involves feeder segregation and infrastructure upgrades using the company’s in-house manufactured conductors and cabling systems.

As per the firm, the company operates three manufacturing facilities in West Bengal with a combined capacity of 73,100 MT as of March 31, 2025. Laser Power & Infra recently filed its draft red herring prospectus for a INR 1,200 crore IPO, which includes INR 800 crore in fresh issuance and a INR 400 crore offer for sale. In FY25, the company reported revenue of INR 2,570 crore, recording nearly 40 percent CAGR since FY23, along with a profit after tax of INR 106 crore.

Chairman and Managing Director Deepak Goel said that the company’s deep backward integration, from aluminium and alloy wire rods to XLPE and PVC compounds, and even the drums used for packing cables, enhances cost efficiency and strengthens supply chain reliability. He added that while the projects are executed on a turnkey basis, the core value lies in the significant volumes of cables and conductors supplied from the company’s integrated plants in West Bengal.
