KPI Green Energy, a part of KP Group, has announced the commissioning of an additional 24.2 MW AC/35.01 MW DC capacity in its ongoing 250 MW AC/350 MW DC grid-connected solar IPP project awarded by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL).
With this commissioning, the total commissioned capacity under the project has reached 48.4 MW AC/69.41 MW DC, the company stated in a regulatory filing.
“The commissioning of this additional capacity marks another step in the phased development of the project. With the overall project timeline of October 2026, the company remains focused on executing the remaining capacity as planned while contributing to India's growing renewable energy transition,” stated the company.
Recently, KPI Green Energy subsidiary Sun Drops Energia has signed a BESPA with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) to develop 445 MW/890 MWh standalone BESS projects across Gujarat with VGF support.
In January 2026, KPI Green Energy commenced power generation from its 200 MW AC/240 MW DC grid-connected solar project at Khavda in Gujarat, supplying power to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) under a long-term PPA. It also announced early commissioning of its 92.15 MWp hybrid IPP project, awarded GUVNL, with the wind-solar hybrid facility synchronised to the Gujarat state grid ahead of its scheduled July 2026 timeline.
KPI Green Energy’s cumulative installed and upcoming renewable capacity has reached over 4.74 GW, including 2.17 GW in the IPP segment and 2.57 GW in the Captive Power Producer (CPP) segment. KPI Green Energy's order book stands at 3.61 GW, providing strong revenue visibility. Installed capacity has crossed 1.12 GW, supported by a land bank of nearly 6,999 acres and power evacuation capacity exceeding 3.57 GW. KP Group has set a target of over 10 GW of renewable capacity by 2030.
