KPI Green Energy, a KP Group company, has announced that its 92.15 MWp IPP Hybrid Power Project, awarded by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) under the competitive bidding process for hybrid renewable energy projects, has commenced power generation and supply to the state grid.

The project, with GUVNL as offtaker, has an aggregate contracted capacity of 92.15 MWp, comprising 16.95 MW of wind power capacity and 75.2 MWp solar power capacity. The project has achieved grid synchronisation, and power injection into the grid has commenced, well ahead of the scheduled project completion timeline of July 2026, the company said in a statement.

It further added that with the start of power generation, the project is expected to begin contributing to the company's revenue on a sustained basis, in accordance with the long-term Power Purchase Agreement executed with GUVNL. The long-term contracted nature of the project is expected to provide stable and predictable cash flows, thereby strengthening the company's overall renewable energy portfolio, it said.

Commenting on the development, Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of KPI Green Energy, said, “The early start of power supply from this Hybrid IPP project for GUVNL demonstrates our team's strong execution capabilities and our continued focus on the timely delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects. Hybrid solutions play an important role in enhancing generation reliability, and this milestone reinforces our position as a trusted renewable energy partner for state utilities.”

The project reinforces KPI Green Energy's focus on expanding its presence across wind, solar, and hybrid power segments, while supporting grid stability through complementary renewable generation sources. It also aligns with the company's strategic objective of building a diversified and resilient renewable energy portfolio and contributing to long-term value creation for its stakeholders, the company stated.
