KPI Green Energy Ltd. has energised an additional 35 MWp of solar capacity, increasing its total operational Independent Power Producer (IPP) portfolio to 589 MWp.

The company said that the addition marks another step in its strategy to scale up renewable energy assets backed by long-term power purchase agreements.

With projects currently under execution, the company aims to commission an additional 1,582 MWp in the near term, which will expand its total IPP portfolio to 2.17 GWp. The operational portfolio is supported by long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), many with tenures of up to 25 years, providing a stable annuity-based revenue stream.

Among its key developments, the company commissioned and began power injection from its 200 MW (240 MWp) solar IPP project at Khavda Solar Park in January 2026. The project is part of the 1.8 GW solar park developed by Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd. and supplies power under a long-term PPA with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd..

The company also achieved grid synchronisation ahead of schedule for its 92.15 MWp hybrid renewable project, comprising 16.95 MW wind capacity and 75.2 MWp solar capacity, with commercial operations originally scheduled for July 2026.

In addition, KPI Green is executing 620 MW (917 MWp) of renewable projects under long-term PPAs with GUVNL, including a 250 MW solar IPP project and a 370 MW hybrid project, both targeted for completion by October 2026.

The company has further expanded into energy storage through its subsidiary Sun Drops Energia Ltd. which signed a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) with GUVNL for 445 MW / 890 MWh of standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), marking its entry into utility-scale energy storage solutions.
