KP Group Unveils KP 3.0 with 10 GWh Battery Manufacturing Goal

KP Group to develop cell manufacturing and BESS assembly capabilities while targeting 10 GW each in IPP capacity and third-party EPC execution by FY32.

October 01, 2026. By News Bureau

KP Group has unveiled KP 3.0 at its Investor Day and announced revised commitments for FY32. The Group is targeting 10 GW of IPP (Independent Power Producer) through KPI Green Energy, 10 GW of third-party EPC execution, excluding related-party projects and 10 GWh of integrated battery manufacturing capability spanning cell production and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assembly.

KP Group’s renewable energy portfolio including operational and under construction projects is on track and is expected to achieve the goal of 10 GW in next few quarters. KP Group’s total portfolio stands at 9.21 GW. This progress has prompted the KP Group to set higher ambitions and a more focused roadmap for its next phase. The new targets cover three distinct businesses: power assets the Group will own, renewable projects it will execute for external customers and storage systems and cells it plans to manufacture.

KP 3.0 marks the induction of a group team of highly experienced professionals in leadership roles across renewable energy, emerging renewable opportunities, international business, green hydrogen, investor relations and governance. This team will also strengthen engineering and manufacturing execution as KP Group scales its businesses.

KP Group is expanding into several emerging clean-energy segments. Sundrops Energia serves as the Group’s dedicated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) platform, with activities spanning BESS IPP, group captive and C&I projects, as well as assembly and cell manufacturing. The Group is also developing a floating solar platform, including the 110 MW AC/142 MW DC Kadana Dam project in Gujarat. In energy trading, KP Group has obtained CERC and GERC licences and is developing capabilities across power exchanges and bilateral markets.

In addition, the Group is building capabilities in green hydrogen and green ammonia, covering hydrogen production, mobility, logistics and utilisation. Its Matar facility currently operates a 1 MW electrolysis-based green hydrogen plant with an output of 432 kg per day.

As on Q1 FY27, KP Group’s reported renewable energy portfolio stood at more than 9.2 GW across solar, wind and hybrid. Its operating platform includes approximately 12,104 acres of land footprint, 5.10 GW of power evacuation capacity, 400,500 MTPA of manufacturing capacity, a 6.4 GW EPC portfolio and a 2.8 GW IPP portfolio.

In the renewable energy sector, KP Group's rapidly expanding footprint now extends across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Furthermore, international opportunities presented span Botswana, Zambia and Tanzania in Africa, as well as Saudi Arabia in the GCC. In Botswana, the Group is pursuing a proposed 5 GW renewable power and associated infrastructure development, with an initial phase planned at 500 MW. In the manufacturing sector the group continues to secure diverse order from pan India.

The Group’s revised targets are supported by a clearer business structure and an emphasis on disciplined execution and governance as the next generation assumes wider responsibilities.

Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Founder and Chairman, KP Group, said, “Looking our orderbook to grow nearly to 10GW.  It shows commitment of our people and the trust of our customers, partners and investors. We have always delivered and will be delivering what we commit. Hence at KP 3.0 we are updating our commitment: to expand owned renewable generation, deliver more projects for customers and build battery manufacturing capability in India. Known for our faster execution, we are committed to achieving these new targets ahead of schedule as well. I am proud to see the next generation take on greater responsibility alongside our experienced professional team. As our ambitions grow, we will remain guided by the principle on which this Group was built: what we commit, we deliver.”
