KP Group has announced that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth INR 4,000 crore with the Government of Gujarat for the development of about 855 MW of renewable energy projects in Gujarat.

The MoU was signed on January 12, 2026, at Marwadi University, Rajkot, as part of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference - Investment Promotion Activity. The MoU was signed between Hassan Patel, Whole-time Director of KP Group, and Bhakti Shamal, Joint Secretary, Energy and Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat.

Under the MoU, KP Group will develop a portfolio of solar and wind-solar hybrid power projects with a combined capacity of over 855 MW. This includes a 200 MW (DC) solar power project under the Distributed Renewable Energy Based Power (DREBP) scheme with a captive user at Devbhumi Dwarka with an investment of INR 800 crore, and a 405 MW solar power project at Bhuj in Kutch with an outlay of INR 1,200 crore.

The proposed investments also cover a 100 MW ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power project and a 150 MW ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power project under the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) at Devbhumi Dwarka with an investment of INR 800 crore and INR 1,200 crore, respectively.

Commenting on the development, Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of KP Group, said, “Vibrant Gujarat is not just a summit, but a platform built on trust and development. We have demonstrated our commitment by translating MoUs signed earlier into projects on the ground. Today’s MoU is another strong step towards making Gujarat a green energy hub. KP Group remains fully committed to sustainable development, clean energy and the creation of local employment with the support of the state government.”

The total proposed investment for these projects is approximately INR 4,000 crore, with an estimated employment generation of over 4,000. The proposed projects are expected to be implemented in a phased manner, subject to receipt of applicable statutory approvals and clearances, the company stated.

As per the MoU, the Government of Gujarat shall facilitate KP Group in obtaining necessary permissions, registrations, approvals and clearances from the relevant State authorities, in accordance with applicable policies, rules and regulations, it said.

At the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the North Gujarat region held in October 2025, KP Group had signed an MoU with the state government to invest INR 8,000 crore for setting up hydrogen and electric vehicle fuel stations across the state. At the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar in January 2024, KP Group signed MoUs to invest INR 17,790 crore for wind, solar, and hybrid power projects, and a green hydrogen plant.
