KP Group has appointed Rajesh Shrivastava as its Executive Director. He brings nearly 37 years of experience across the power, infrastructure, and renewable energy sectors.
Over the course of his career, he has led some of India's largest and most complex energy transition, EPC, and infrastructure development initiatives, with deep expertise spanning renewable energy, thermal power, strategic planning, project execution, technology integration, organisational building, and P&L leadership, stated the KP Group.
Shrivastava has been associated with more than 30 GW of power projects across fossil fuel and renewable energy domains, including over 10 GW of renewable energy projects under development and execution. “He is widely recognised for his ability to build large-scale businesses with a strong focus on scale, speed, sustainability, and execution excellence,” stated the company.
Prior to this role, Rajesh served as President and Business Head – Renewable Energy Development at Reliance New Energy, where he played a pivotal role in planning one of the world's most ambitious renewable energy ecosystems in Kutch, involving 150 GWp of solar capacity and large-scale BESS infrastructure. He has been instrumental in establishing the organisation, driving technology strategy, and overseeing massive land and infrastructure development programs spread across nearly 60,000 acres, stated KP Group.
Earlier, as CEO of Aditya Birla Renewables, he led the rapid scale-up of the renewable business portfolio from 600+ MW to over 3 GW within two and a half years, while shaping the Group's long-term decarbonisation and green energy roadmap.
During his tenure as COO of Adani Green Energy, Shrivastava successfully led the execution of three of India's largest hybrid renewable projects comprising solar and wind capacity at a single location during the challenging COVID period. He also contributed significantly to the strategic vision of scaling the business toward 25 GW capacity and introducing enterprise-wide digital project management systems, the company said.
His earlier leadership roles include senior positions with Toshiba JSW Power Systems, Toshiba India, LANCO Solar, TPSCI, and NTPC, where he managed large EPC projects in India and abroad, global engineering operations, manufacturing initiatives, and multidisciplinary teams across India and international markets.
“Rajesh is known for combining strong engineering fundamentals with strategic business leadership and innovation. He has led multiple first-of-their-kind initiatives involving renewable hybrid systems, large-scale land infrastructure, digitisation platforms, technology innovation, and next-generation energy solutions, including Hybrid with PSP and battery storage,” stated KP Group.
