Gujarat-based wind energy company KP Energy, a part of KP Group, has announced the commissioning of 23.1 MW of wind power capacity in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. This is a part of the wind-solar hybrid power project comprising 23.1 MW wind and 25.69 MWDC solar.
The commissioned wind capacity consists of 11 wind turbine generators (WTGs) of Suzlon make, model S120, each having a rated capacity of 2,100 kW and a hub height of 140 meters, stated the company in a regulatory filing.
“These WTGs are connected to a 140 MW power evacuation facility at the Fulsar site in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, developed for Aditya Birla Renewables Energy,” it said.
The company provides EPC services and O&M services in the wind sector, besides its own IPP projects.
In February 2025, KP Energy commissioned a 25.8 MW wind power project at Vagra, Bharuch, under its IPP segment.
In January 2025, the company commissioned 6.3 MW (Phase-XI) of its ISTS-connected wind power project at Sidhpur, Devbhoomi Dwarka, as part of a 250.8 MW capacity project awarded to Apraava Energy under SECI’s Tranche-VIII bidding. It further added that with the present Phase-XI commissioning, the net cumulative capacity commissioned at the Sidhpur site stands at 252 MW.
The company has energised a consolidated capacity of about 898 MW including CTU and STU projects. It has about 48.5 MW of operational and under-construction IPP assets and about 520 MW of O&M portfolio. It also has a project pipeline of about 2 GW. The company aims to achieve a capacity of 10 GW by 2030.
