Kinetic Engineering Launches Robotic Chassis Line to Power DX EV Production

Kinetic Engineering Ltd., part of the Kinetic Group, has inaugurated a new Robotic Chassis Line at its Ahilya Nagar facility in Maharashtra, marking a major step in its push toward advanced manufacturing.

The new line, dedicated to the production of the Kinetic DX electric scooter, features robotic welding, clamping auto fixtures, and a dedicated scooter framing cell. The automation upgrade is designed to improve structural accuracy, consistency, and productivity while reducing human error.

Alongside the chassis line, the company has modernised other parts of its manufacturing unit. The metal body panel line now incorporates hydraulic and mechanical presses, spot welding guns, and pneumatic clamping fixtures. The paint shop has been upgraded with a seven-tank process using cathodic electrodeposition (CED) coating, followed by a metallic top coat for improved durability and finish. A digitised parts store has also been introduced to streamline inventory management with kit-based supply for sub-assemblies.

Founded more than five decades ago, Kinetic Engineering is the flagship company of the Kinetic Group. Its Ahmednagar unit employs over 1,000 people, operates 32 sheds with 400 machines, and supplies components to clients including Renault, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Ashok Leyland.
