Kazam Launches Free Integration Drive to Onboard CPOs onto Unified Bharat e-Charge

Kazam has announced a free seven-day nationwide programme, starting from July 14, that enables eligible Charge Point Operators (CPOs) to connect their existing charging networks to Unified Bharat e-Charge (UBC) at no initial integration cost.

Unified Bharat e-Charge is being developed by the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), BHEL and NPCI as an open interoperability layer for India's EV charging ecosystem. As more operators join the network, EV users will be able to discover charging stations, view live availability, compare tariffs, initiate or reserve charging sessions and make payments across participating charging networks through compatible applications, reducing the need to download multiple charging apps.

Through its Beckn Provider Platform (BPP), Kazam enables CPOs to participate in the open network using their existing Charger Management Systems (CMS), customer-facing applications and pricing models. Operators with OCPI-compatible systems can typically be onboarded to Unified Bharat e-Charge within seven days through integration, testing and certification.

Through this programme, we want to ensure that the cost of integration does not prevent capable CPOs from participating in Unified Bharat e-Charge. Kazam will provide the provider-side infrastructure so operators can connect their existing ecosystems without rebuilding them from the ground up.”

Kazam is among the earliest technology partners enabling Unified Bharat e-Charge and is already live with BHIM and ecosystem participants, supporting interoperable EV charging transactions on the open network.

During the programme, eligible CPOs will receive end-to-end onboarding support, including network assessment, OCPI integration, protocol enablement, sandbox testing and initial transaction validation.

By joining Unified Bharat e-Charge, CPOs can make their charging stations discoverable across a broader ecosystem of compatible applications while retaining full control of their charging assets, pricing and customer relationships. The interoperable architecture also enables the standardised exchange of charger availability, tariffs, charging session information, billing and settlement data.
