Karnataka releases RFP for allocation of 50 MW Solar projects

The Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) issued RfP for allocation of 50MW Solar projects. Following is the schedule for the Rfs:

Bidder could propose a maximum of three Projects with minimum capacity of the project to be at least 3 MW and the maximum capacity to be 10 MW.
The Bids will be valid for a period of not less than 365 days from the Bid Due Date. The Bid Validity Period can be extended by mutual consent of the respective Bidders and the Authority. The Power purchase agreement will be signed 30days from the acknowledgement of LOA.
The Bidder has to deploy commercially established technology wherein there is at least one project successfully operational of the proposed technology, for at least one year, anywhere in the world. The Bidder has to provide following technology for Solar Thermal or Solar PV Project or their any other combination can be used:
In case of Solar Thermal Project, Solar Power (CSP) technology, such as:
- Parabolic Trough Collectors,
- Solar Dish Stirling (or any other prime mover),
- Linear Fresnel Reflector,
- Central Tower with heliostats

As for the financial criteria, the Bidder has to have a minimum net worth equivalent of Rs. 2 crore (Rupees Two crore) or equivalent US$ per MW of the proposed capacity as on March 31, 2013 or March 31, 2014 for companies incorporated after March 31, 2013.
The Project is compatible to Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Benefit claims. The commissioning of the project will take place within 18 to 30 months from the date of signing of the Power Purchase Agreement.
The approved Benchmark Tariff is Rs. 8.40/kWh for Solar PV Power Plants, Rs. 10.92/kWh for Solar Thermal Power Plants, Rs. 9.56/kWh for Rooftop and Small Solar PV Plants & Rs. 7.20/kWh for Rooftop and Small Solar PV Plants with 30% capital subsidy.
