Kalpa Power Unveils Productised BESS - 'WATTBANK', for C&I Segment
Kalpa Power has launched WATTBANK, a productised battery energy storage service for commercial and industrial users, that promises 50 percent savings on evening peak tariffs and potential annual cost reductions of INR 80 lakh to INR 1 crore for typical 1 MW facilities.

Designed for commercial and industrial (C&I) businesses, WATTBANK delivers 50 percent savings on their evening peak tariff from day one, claimed the company, further adding that WATTBANK charges during the day using solar energy and automatically supplies power during costly evening peak time, enabling businesses to achieve direct savings of INR 80 lakhs to INR 1 crore annually for typical 1 MW facilities.
The company also commissioned a 130 KW installation in Pune as part of a larger, integrated solar powered system that makes the Amar Business Zone’s entire office premise a true net-zero operation. “This project is also one of the first of its kind at this scale for a commercial establishment in Pune. With WATTBANK, Kalpa Power is providing a truly integrated solution through a 'productised service' model that includes energy audit, right-sized storage design, end-to-end implementation, 24x7 data visibility, and life cycle management,” stated the company.
Designed with a lifespan of 25 years, the system will use Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, known for their advanced safety and efficiency. The WATTBANK (BESS) will help manage fluctuations in electricity demand, improve grid stability, and reduce overloading issues.
