Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) is set to revolutionize its energy landscape by reducing the timeline for the installation of rooftop solar systems. The ambitious initiative aims to install net metering systems from the current 80 days to just 18 days.
Acknowledging the importance of a proactive stance in the transition to renewable energy, JVVNL has sensitized its working-level staff to prioritize rooftop solar projects. This strategic move is aimed at minimizing delays due to procedural issues and streamlining the installation process for greater efficiency.
A pivotal step in this direction was a recent meeting held under the chairmanship of JVVNL's Managing Director, RN Kumawat, at the Vidyut Bhawan conference hall. The meeting saw the active engagement of over 150 empanelled solar power vendors executing rooftop solar installations through the National Solar Portal and Unified Web Portal.
Discussions during the meeting delved into the status of rooftop solar implementation, addressing challenges faced at various administrative levels, including districts, circles, divisions, and sub-divisions. RN Kumawat outlined the vision of installing at least 1000 rooftop solar systems in Jaipur by March 31, 2024, emphasizing the importance of meeting this target within the stipulated timeframe.
Solar power developers, both physically present and connected virtually, pledged their commitment to the cause, expressing readiness to install around 2000 rooftop solar systems in Jaipur by the same deadline.
By actively engaging with solar vendors and ensuring internal coordination, Jaipur Discom is fostering an environment conducive to the growth of renewable energy.
