Juniper Green Energy Reports 79 Percent Rise in Q1 FY27 Income to INR 324 Crore

Juniper Green Energy has reported INR 324 crore in Q1 FY27 income, INR 294 crore in EBITDA, and added 601 MWp of renewable capacity along with 403 MWh of BESS.

Juniper Green Energy Ltd. has reported 79 percent year on year increase in consolidated total income to INR 324 crore in the first quarter of financial year 2026 -27, compared with INR 181 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company’s EBITDA rose 86 percent year on year to INR 294 crore from INR 159 crore, while its EBITDA margin expanded to 91 percent from 88 percent. Profit after tax increased 54 percent to INR 33 crore from INR 22 crore, while cash PAT rose 50 percent to INR 108 crore.

Juniper Green Energy commissioned 601 MWp of renewable energy capacity during the quarter, its highest quarterly addition to date. The additions comprised 458 MWp of solar and 143 MW of wind capacity. The company also commissioned around 400 MWh of battery energy storage systems during the quarter, taking its cumulative operational BESS capacity to 503 MWh.

As of June 30, 2026, the company had 2,409 MWp of operational renewable capacity. A further 167 MW of wind capacity commissioned after the quarter took its operational capacity to 2,575 MWp as of August 27.

The company said that its generation increased 72 percent year on year to 944 million units in Q1 FY27, while its capacity utilisation factor improved to 30.2 percent from 28.2 percent in the year ago period. The weighted average CUF stood at 49.9 percent for its 192 MW wind portfolio and 27.9 percent for its 935 MW solar portfolio.

Juniper Green Energy also expanded its project pipeline following the quarter. On August 26, it signed a 25 year power purchase agreement with SJVN Ltd. for a 50 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy project at a tariff of INR 4.25 per kWh.

The company also received a Letter of Award under SECI’s Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy round the clock thermal mimic tender for a project involving 230 MW of contracted capacity, supported by 870 MWp of renewable capacity and 2,200 MWh of BESS, at a tariff of INR 5.26 per kWh. In addition, it won a 50 MW wind project under a GUVNL tender at INR 3.51 per kWh.

Juniper Green Energy said that it had commissioned India’s first FDRE project under the SJVN FDRE tender. Its total portfolio stood at 11,216 MWp along with 8,989 MWh of BESS capacity. About 98 percent of the portfolio is tied to offtakers rated A or above, while 98 percent is secured through long term PPAs, typically for 25 years.

The company has also ordered an additional approximately 4,000 MWh of BESS capacity. It said that connectivity had been secured, granted or applied for across its full portfolio, with surplus connectivity of more than 4,500 MW available for future bids and connectivity to support more than 20,000 MWh of BESS installations.

On the financing front, Juniper Green Energy’s total capital expenditure stood at INR 16,303 crore as of June 30, including INR 1,183 crore incurred during Q1 FY27. Net debt stood at INR 11,217 crore, of which INR 7,183 crore related to the operational portfolio.

The company refinanced more than INR 1,700 crore across three projects during the current fiscal year at a weighted average interest rate of below 8 percent per annum. The weighted average cost of debt for its operational portfolio stood at 8.58 percent.

Its net worth was INR 3,463 crore as of June 30, while net debt to equity stood at 3.24 times. Following its initial public offering in August 2026, the company raised INR 1,800 crore in primary funds, taking its post IPO net worth to approximately INR 5,200 crore.

Juniper Green Energy said that its operational renewable capacity stood at approximately 2.57 GWp along with around 500 MWh of BESS, while its overall portfolio was approximately 11 GWp of renewable capacity and 9 GWh of BESS across operational, under construction, contracted and awarded projects.
