JK Tyre to Procure Captive Solar Power from Oriana Power and Fourth Partner Energy

JK Tyre and Industries will invest a total of INR 6.57 crore to pick up 26 percent stakes in SPVs of Oriana Power and Fourth Partner Energy to procure solar power under the captive mode.

JK Tyre and Industries will procure solar power under the captive mode from Oriana Power and Fourth Partner Energy. The company’s Board of Directors have approved proposals to invest a total of INR 6.57 crore for the same.
 
While the company will invest INR 1.53 crore to pick up 26 percent stake in FPEL Burning Bright, a SPV of Fourth Partner Energy, it will invest INR 5.04 crore for acquiring a 26 percent equity shares of Sunpulse Power, a SPV of Oriana Power, JK Tyre stated in a regulatory filing.
 
It further added that the acquisitions will be completed within 90 days.
 
In July 2025, JK Tyre and Industries announced that it will source power from a 5 MWp captive solar project developed by STTY RE over 25 years, investing INR 1.22 crore for a 26 percent stake to comply with captive power norms.
 
The company, in its Annual Report for FY2024-25, has mentioned that about 53 percent of energy consumption was fulfilled using renewable sources. In total, the company consumed about 10.27 lakh GJ of renewable energy in FY25.
 
In FY25, the company commissioned a 6 MW solar power plant at its Laksar facility in Uttarakhand. It also established India’s first solar-powered Retread Centre in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
 
 The company has set a goal to reduce carbon emission intensity by 50 percent by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. JK Tyre has also recently joined the RE100 initiative, committing to 100 percent renewable electricity by 2050
