JK Srivastava Hynfra Signs INR 35,000 Cr MoU with NREDCAP for Green Ammonia Hub in Andhra Pradesh
JK Srivastava Hynfra (JKSH) has signed an MoU with NREDCAP to develop a green ammonia facility near Visakhapatnam, targeting 1 million tons of annual production and installing 3 GW of renewable energy capacity, with an investment of about INR 35,000 crore.

JK Srivastava Hynfra (JKSH), a joint venture between Hynfra and the JK Srivastava Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP), the state renewable energy agency of Andhra Pradesh.
The partnership will develop a large-scale facility near the port of Visakhapatnam, aiming to produce up to 1 million tons of green ammonia per year and install 3 GW of renewable energy capacity, the company said in a statement.
The total investment is expected to reach INR 35,000 crore (around USD 4 billion), with operations planned to begin in early 2029. The facility will be fully powered by solar and wind energy, supported by battery storage and advanced energy management systems.
A significant share of the green ammonia will be exported to Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, where it will help decarbonise power generation through co-firing with coal. The rest will be used within India across the fertiliser, power, transport and digital infrastructure sectors.
Commenting on the development, JK Srivastava, Chairman and Managing Director of JKSH, said, “This agreement formalises our cooperation with the Government of Andhra Pradesh and marks the beginning of one of the largest green ammonia projects in the Asia-Pacific region. Thanks to its scalability and reliance on clean energy, this project positions India as a key supplier of next-generation strategic energy carriers.”
Tomoho Umeda, Board Member of JKSH and President of Hynfra, commented, “This project combines over a century of expertise in chemical synthesis with India’s ambitious energy vision in a project that addresses urgent global market needs. Our goal is to create a platform for green hydrogen and its derivatives that meets the most demanding international standards, including RFNBO certification.”
The project will also serve as the central export hub within Andhra Pradesh’s planned Green Hydrogen Valley, an integrated cluster for renewable hydrogen production, storage, transport, and export.
