JK Lakshmi Cement has deployed more than 70 electric vehicles (EVs) across key logistics routes in Rajasthan and Gujarat and plans to expand its fleet to 120 vehicles by March 2027.

The company has achieved nearly 100 percent EV-based clinker dispatches from its Sirohi plant in Rajasthan to its Kalol Grinding Unit in Gujarat, according to the company.

The deployment covers transportation routes connecting Sirohi with the Kalol, Palanpur and Surat units. JK Lakshmi Cement is working with EV logistics providers SwitchLabs and Billion E to support the initiative.

The company said that the transition to electric vehicles for clinker transportation was part of its broader decarbonisation strategy, aimed at reducing emissions and improving operational efficiency across its logistics network.

Vinita Singhania, chairperson and managing director of JK Lakshmi Cement, said that the company was making progress in adopting cleaner transportation solutions, with more than 70 electric vehicles operating across its logistics network.

She described the shift to EV-based clinker dispatches on the Sirohi–Kalol route as an important milestone in the company's efforts to scale sustainable logistics.

The EV deployment programme forms part of the company's sustainability roadmap, which includes measures to reduce emissions across its value chain. JK Lakshmi Cement has set a long-term ambition of achieving net-zero emissions by 2047.
