JinkoSolar Signs Module Supply Agreement with HuanTai Energy for 100 MW Solar Project in Azerbaijan

JinkoSolar has signed a module supply agreement with HuanTai Energy for the 100 MW Gobustan solar project in Azerbaijan.

The project will fully adopt Jinko’s self-developed N-type TOPCon modules and is expected to become a benchmark for new energy development in the Caucasus region, said the company in a statement.

Located in Gobustan, Azerbaijan, the project faces harsh environmental conditions, including extreme summer temperatures of up to 45°C, strong wind and sand, and high salinity. JinkoSolar’s N-type TOPCon modules stood out due to their outstanding technical advantages such as higher power output per watt, superior all-weather performance, and greater overall energy yield.

With a bifaciality of up to 85 percent, the modules significantly improve rear-side energy conversion efficiency. This alone can boost overall energy yield by approximately 3.38 percent—and even more in high-albedo environments. Combined with an excellent temperature coefficient of -0.29 percent/°C and triple PID resistance, these modules ensure stable and efficient performance even under extreme conditions. Thanks to this energy yield, the same land area can generate over 6 percent more clean electricity annually.

As Azerbaijan’s first internationally tendered solar project, the Gobustan plant is expected to generate 180 million kWh of electricity per year, supplying clean energy to 50,000 households and reducing CO₂ emissions by 146,500 tons annually.

This project contributes to Azerbaijan’s goal of reaching a 30 percent share of renewables by 2030. “The cooperation marks a powerful convergence between ‘Intelligent manufacturing in China’ and global market demand, while also establishing a scalable blueprint for future renewable energy development across the South Caucasus region,” it stated.
