JinkoSolar Claims 24.90% Efficiency for N-type Monocrystalline Silicon Solar Cell

Solar module manufacturer JinkoSolar has claimed that it has recently achieved a record for large-area N-type monocrystalline silicon solar cell conversion efficiency of 24.90 per cent. The result, confirmed by Germany’s Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hamelin (ISFH), betters Jinko’s earlier record by 0.11 per cent.

Solar module manufacturer JinkoSolar has claimed that it has recently achieved a record for large-area N-type monocrystalline silicon solar cell conversion efficiency of 24.90 per cent. The result, confirmed by Germany’s Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hamelin (ISFH), betters Jinko’s earlier record by 0.11 per cent.

Earlier in July 2020, the company announced that the maximum solar conversion efficiency of its large-area N-type monocrystalline silicon solar cells reached 24.79 per cent, and set a world record for large-size contact-passivated solar cells.

The company said that it has invested huge resources in R&D, and its experts in the fields of silicon wafers, cells and photovoltaic modules focuses on technological innovation breakthroughs.

The record-breaking mono-crystalline silicon solar cell was fabricated on a high quality, low defect CZ mono-Si substrate, it added.

Advanced diffusion with highly activated dopant, high quality surface passivation, JinkoSolar highly conductive passivating contact technologies, and a series of innovative technologies and material upgrade were integrated into the cell process to set this new record of 24.9 per cent, the manufacturer further said.

The company also added that it will continue to improve its own technological level, set world records one after another, and promote Chinese photovoltaic companies to become the top class globally.

Commenting on the achievement, Jin Hao, CTO of JinkoSolar said that, “in the future, JinkoSolar will continue to assume the role of industry change promoter, focusing on the rapid improvement of PV products with our innovative technology so as to promote the high-quality development of photovoltaic industry.”
