Jindal India Power Signs Term Sheet with SANY Wind Energy India for 160 MW WTGs
Jindal India Power has signed a term sheet with SANY Wind Energy India for the supply of 160 MW of wind turbines for its 150 MW SECI-awarded round-the-clock renewable energy project in Davanagere, Karnataka.

Jindal India Power has signed a Term Sheet with SANY Wind Energy India for the supply of 160 MW of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) for its 150 MW round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy project being developed for the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in Davanagere, Karnataka.
“RTC power depends on getting the mix right: wind, solar and battery storage working together to deliver firm, round-the-clock capacity instead of the variable output either source gives on its own. This WTG agreement is one of the pieces that makes that mix possible, and it moves the project from planning into execution,” stated Jindal India Renewable Energy (JIRE).
In November 2026, JIRE announced the signing of a PPA with Solar Energy Corporation of India to supply 150 MW of round-the-clock renewable power from a hybrid solar-wind-storage project.
SECI floated the tender for procuring 1,200 MW RTC renewable power in November 2024, and JIRE secured 150 MW at a tariff of INR 5.07/kWh at the auction held in May 2025.
As part of the project, JIRE will be responsible for setting up Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected renewable energy power projects, which would entail building transmission networks and establishing interconnection or delivery points with the ISTS network.
Last year, Jindal India Renewable Energy secured 300 MW solar-plus-storage projects from SJVN and NHPC under their respective ISTS-connected renewable energy tenders
In line with its strategic growth plan, the B C Jindal group intends to invest USD 2.5 billion in the renewable energy sector by 2030. This investment aims to meet India's growing energy demand while improving grid stability through advanced battery energy storage systems.
Additionally, the group, through JIRE, is setting up a solar cell and module manufacturing plant in Maharashtra, with a planned annual capacity of 2 GW. The facility is expected to be operational by September 2026, the company stated earlier.
