Jean-Luc Maurange will take over as Chief Executive Officer of the John Cockerill Group on January 1, 2026, succeeding Francois Michel, who will step down at the end of December to pursue other professional opportunities.

The company’s Board of Directors thanked Michel for his contributions over the past three years and wished him success in his future endeavors.

Maurange, who previously led the Group from 2018 to 2022, is already a familiar figure within John Cockerill. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Group and its subsidiaries, including John Cockerill Hydrogen, John Cockerill Defense, and Rely. He also played a key role in the recent acquisition of Arquus.

The Board highlighted that Maurange’s extensive knowledge of the company will ensure continuity in operations and the effective implementation of strategic initiatives. John Cockerill reaffirmed its commitment to its multi-sector model, spanning energy, defense, hydrogen, metallurgy, industrial services, and critical infrastructure, while navigating an unstable international environment that still presents significant growth opportunities.

The Board also expressed confidence in the existing management team and thanked employees for their continued dedication to the Group’s transformation and development.
