Jammu's Electric Bus Project Faces Delays Over Charging Station Hurdles

The Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department had previously announced its intention to procure 200 electric buses from Tata Motors to reduce air pollution and promote sustainable urban transportation. However, the project's rollout is encountering challenges in its early stages.
The primary issue hindering progress is the establishment of charging stations. According to the department, the insufficient number of charging facilities is a major roadblock to the timely introduction of electric buses. Without an adequate network of charging stations, the electric bus fleet's viability and functionality are compromised.
