JA Solar has achieved a significant milestone by completing the shipment of all n-type modules for the ACWA Power solar project in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The successful delivery was marked with the arrival of a freight train carrying JA Solar's modules, reinforcing the collaborative efforts between ACWA Power and JA Solar in advancing renewable energy initiatives.

The project agreement, inked between ACWA Power and Uzbekistan's Joint-Stock Company (JSC) National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan (NEGU) and Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade, entrusted China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited with the construction. JA Solar, in turn, supplied all 240MW PV modules for this substantial solar undertaking.

The completion of this project not only signifies the successful collaboration between ACWA Power and JA Solar but also underscores the global recognition garnered by JA Solar's n-type modules.

ACWA Power, known for its role as a developer, investor, and operator of power generation, has established a longstanding partnership with JA Solar, reflecting a commitment to advancing renewable energy initiatives.

In April 2022, executives from ACWA Power and JA Solar met, expressing their shared commitment to deepen cooperation in renewable energy and localized manufacturing.

Aiqing Yang, Executive President of JA Solar, expressed enthusiasm about contributing to the development of the PV market in Uzbekistan. "Three years ago, JA Solar exclusively supplied modules for the 100MW Nur Navoi solar project, the first utility-scale solar plant in Uzbekistan. As the country is working to develop a green economy, we look forward to bringing more advanced PV technologies and products to the local market, supporting Uzbekistan to reaching its goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050," he said.

As Uzbekistan pursues its goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, JA Solar looks forward to playing a crucial role by bringing advanced PV technologies and products to the local market.
