The Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) highlighted the growing significance of offshore wind energy and hybrid renewable infrastructure during the Climate Innovation Summit 2026, organised by Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and Net Zero Think at the campus of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
The summit brought together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, investors and climate-tech innovators to discuss strategies for accelerating India’s transition towards a net-zero economy. During the discussions, IWTMA stressed the need for integrated renewable energy systems combining wind, solar, storage and emerging technologies to enhance grid reliability and support industrial decarbonisation.
Participants examined India’s expanding renewable energy roadmap and highlighted the importance of scaling up offshore wind projects, increasing investments in hybrid wind-solar-storage parks and modernising grid infrastructure to meet the country’s long-term clean energy targets.
The event also focused on the role of advanced battery technologies, green hydrogen and digital innovations in strengthening renewable energy ecosystems. Industry experts discussed how utility-scale energy storage, AI-driven predictive maintenance, smart forecasting tools and grid digitisation can improve renewable integration while boosting operational efficiency and grid flexibility.
Speaking at the summit, Aditya Pyasi said that India’s energy transition is entering a stage where scale, reliability and integration are becoming increasingly important. He noted that offshore wind and hybrid renewable projects would be critical in delivering round-the-clock clean power and supporting industrial decarbonisation, while emphasising the need for stronger collaboration among industry stakeholders, policymakers and technology providers.
The summit concluded with discussions on climate finance, public-private partnerships and policy frameworks required to accelerate renewable energy deployment. Participants agreed that enabling investment, innovation and large-scale infrastructure development will be essential for achieving India’s Net Zero 2070 and Viksit Bharat 2047 goals.
