The India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF) and the Government of Gujarat have entered into a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) held at Marwadi University, Rajkot.
The MoU was formally exchanged between Preeti Sharma, Director, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL), and Reji Kumar Pillai, President, ISGF, during the inaugural ceremony of VGRC.
Under the strategic partnership, ISGF and the Government of Gujarat will collaborate across key areas such as smart grids and grid modernisation, digital power systems and AI-enabled grid operations, renewable energy integration, EV infrastructure and electric mobility, cyber-secure power systems, and policy advisory and capacity building.
The collaboration aims to leverage Gujarat’s progressive policy framework and ISGF’s technical expertise to accelerate pilot projects and large-scale deployment of smart and digital energy solutions across the state. The partnership is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening Gujarat’s power infrastructure while supporting its transition toward a resilient, digital, and future-ready energy ecosystem.
As part of the implementation framework, ISGF will work closely with R.J. Vala, Chief Engineer (Technical), GUVNL, to advance strategic initiatives focused on grid modernisation, renewable integration, and power sector digitalisation in Gujarat.
Recently, India Smart Grid Forum and the National Institute of Solar Energy signed an MoU to jointly advance solar energy integration and grid modernisation through technical collaboration, digitalisation, and capacity building initiatives.
