Intertek displays Renewable Energy Testing, Inspection & Certification capabilities at REI Expo

Intertek, a leading safety and quality solutions provider to industries worldwide participated in the 8th Renewable Energy India Expo,held from September 3rd to 5th, 2014 at India Expo Centre, Greater Noida. The expo was attended by more than 400 companies from India and around the world. Intertek is a global player in quality testing, inspection and certification of wind turbines and supports the manufacturers of energy generation and distribution equipment with testing and certification solutions for access to global markets.

India has progressed steadily in the development of wind power in the last few years. Growing faster than solar energy, wind power currently accounts for more than 70 percent of the total grid-interactive renewable capacity in the country. As of December 2013 the installed capacity of wind power in India was 20,149 MW. It is estimated that 6,000 MW of additional wind power capacity will be installed in India by 2014. 

At the Renewable Energy India Expo, Intertek showcased how they can support the manufacturers and service providers through optimized process flows and state-of-the-art testing models. Intertek showcased two types of Renewable testing and certification services, Photovoltaic (PV) and Wind Turbine to the industry spectators. Photovoltaic is one of the pillars of renewable energy production. Photovoltaic services  covers the performance, reliability and regulatory testing and certification of PV modules and Balance of System (BoS) components including charge controller, Inverter etc.. The Wind Turbine services covers evaluation of Design for safety, performance testing, reliability, quality etc.
