Industry breakthrough in wind measurement

Grand Symphonie® wind measurement system will fundamentally change the way you measure, collect, and transmit wind data.

December 12, 2012. By Gisela Bühl

NRG Systems, manufacturer of measurement equipment and turbine optimization systems for the global renewable energy industry, has introduced Grand Symphonie, a revolutionary new system for resource assessment and comprehensive fleet management of meteorological towers.

Grand Symphonie applies advanced technology to reduce both overall measurement uncertainty and total cost of ownership. Designed for ease of use, the integrated system of smart sensors, wireless communications, and a cloud-hosted data management portal improves the quality, reliability, and security of resource assessment data.

“The drive to reduce uncertainty is pushing developers to know more about their prospective wind sites,” said Katherine McQuade, director of marketing for NRG Systems. “Grand Symphonie answers that call by layering a simple user interface on top of sophisticated technology to provide the highest-quality data.”

The integrated system features more accurate sensors that collect critical data in the most reliable, secure manner. Smart sensors store data redundantly for up to one year and system-wide features allow for unprecedented quality control. Grand Symphonie also features automated data transfer from the GS-Logger to WindPortal, a cloud-hosted web application that provides enterprise-grade security and backup of data.

“Grand Symphonie is the easiest system on the market to install and use,” continued McQuade. “Whether you are an installer, data analyst, or project developer, Grand Symphonie offers robust information and ease-of-use that traditional data loggers cannot provide.”
