India's move towards a biofuels alliance to develop cleaner fuel has captivated interest from various nations, including Russia and Brazil.
Union Oil Minister Harshdeep Singh Puri declaredin the month of October, 2022, that India, the world's third-largest oil consumer is meant to compel its G20 presidency to establish an international biofuels alliance.
The focal point of biofuels is aligned with supporting India's transition to replacement of fuels and reducing its import prices so that attainment of a net zero carbon emissions goal by 2070.
India imports about 85% of its crude needs, though the slowly growing capacity to raise its output of biofuels. It offers to build 12 bio-refineries to manufacture fuel from items including fibre crop, plant waste, city waste, domestic waste, garbage, and industrial waste.
India's objective is to establish the biofuels treaty which reflects the idea of the International Solar Alliance introduced by New Delhi and Paris in 2015 conducting the clean and feasible solar energy approachable for all.
This proposal will give the best shape for biofuels and renewable energy by establishing an international biofuels alliance so that the bigger picture of sustainable development is accessible for everyone.
