India Achieves 173GW RE Capacity, 120GW Under Implementation, Says MNRE Secretary Bhupinder Singh Bhalla

India and the US are operating towards swiftly deploying clean energy at scale, constructing economic prosperity and assisting achieve global climate goals.

India and the US are working together to ensure that there is no disruption in the global clean energy supply chain, said Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

The US-India Energy Summit addressing as ‘Partnering for a Sustainable Future’, the official noted that the US-India New and emerging renewable energy technologies action platform would aid in minimising the cost of green hydrogen production according to the respective green hydrogen strategies of both nations.

Bhupinder Singh Bhalla said, “Recognizing the importance of diversified and resilient clean energy supply chains for the energy transition we are working together to eliminate exposures to disruption.”

He further said that India and the US are mutually working to develop and assist the global hydrogen ecosystem to make feasible and low carbon hydrogen worldwide.

Discussing India’s growth in the renewable energy sector, he added that the country presently has 173 GW of installed RE capacity and another 120 GW are in different phases of execution.
