September 23, 2015. By Moulin

IMI Critical Engineering has announced that it has appointed Ajitkumar Sreekumar as head of its operation in India, where he will report directly to divisional Managing Director, Roy Twite.

The new appointment follows significant growth within the Indian market, which the business has identified as a region of key strategic importance. Ajit will play a decisive role in IMI’s continued success in India, providing leadership and strategic input as the business continues to develop new opportunities in India that will support IMI Critical Engineering’s ambitious growth objectives.

Following the success of his counterparts in China and Russia, the decision was taken to create an equivalent role in India. In conjunction with a background in engineering, Ajit brings with him a wealth of business development experience, having worked in various markets across Asia, the Middle East and the US within the control valves industry before joining IMI CCI in 2009. Ajit’s experience within IMI will prove invaluable while implementing measures to optimise growth within IMI Critical Engineering’s petrochemicals, isolation valves and actuation businesses.

Commenting on the appointment, Mike Semens-Flanagan, Director of Strategic Planning, explained: “Ajitkumar’s appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to growing our business in attractive markets which will serve as a source of sustainable competitive advantage. With a demonstrable track record of providing strong business development leadership and following an already successful spell with IMI Critical Engineering in both California and Chennai, we have every confidence in his ability to achieve the level of growth that we are looking for.”
